At Prickly Pears, we believe summer is more than a season—it’s a rhythm, a feeling, a way of being. That’s why we’re starting the Prickly Pears Lovers Club—a slow and soulful series where we invite kindred spirits to share their rituals, escapes, and stories of summer.
Our first guest is someone very close to our heart.
Photographer, visual storyteller, dear friend—and the eye behind nearly every image you’ve ever loved on our page—meet Fikret, aka @we.eatlove. He doesn’t just take pictures; he captures what it feels like to be alive in a moment.
Here’s how he lives the art of summering.signal - quiet, simple, perfect.
What does summer mean to you?
Long days that blur the line between work and rest. The cicadas’ chorus swelling in the late afternoon.
Salt on skin. Watermelon juice running down my wrist. The sudden, irrational urge to do nothing—and call it everything. Summer, to me, is the permission to pause.
What rituals anchor your summer days?
Waking up early enough to hear the village before it wakes. Dipping figs in cold yogurt.
Watching the sky turn lavender with a glass of white wine. The slow, simple acts that feel like a return.
Where do you wander when you long for a summer escape?
Always towards Aegean winds and thyme-covered hills. A hidden cove near Kaş where the water is impossibly clear and time forgets to move. Or the narrow roads of a small Greek island, where silence hums louder than the sea.
Which Prickly Pears towel has become your summer companion—and why?
Upside Down Sky and Lütfi Khaki. Lightweight enough to carry everywhere, yet thick enough to soften a pebble beach. The colors and texture remind me of beautiful summer moments from my childhood.
When and where did you last travel with it?
Last seen drying under a pine tree in Fethiye.
We had just swum through a sea cave—still salty, still laughing—and a few stubborn grains of sand made the journey home with us.
If you had to describe this towel in 3 words?
Sunlight — because of the warmth.
Soft — because of the memories.
Sea-salt — because of the breeze.
