Simple summer suppers have a way of turning ordinary moments into unforgettable memories with loved ones, filling each gathering with joy and warmth.
One late afternoon, after wandering through the quiet, narrow streets of Agiasos, we came across a small, unassuming tavern named To Stavri. It was nestled under the shade of a majestic plane tree at the top of a hill, inviting us in with its peaceful charm.

We hadn’t intended to stop and eat, but something about the scene—the soft, golden light of the setting sun, the warm, welcoming smile of the waiter—drew us in. Before we knew it, we were seated at a simple wooden table, ordering from the hand-written menu. We weren’t particularly hungry, so we ordered just a few things: a cold beer to quench our thirst, fresh black-eyed peas drizzled with olive oil, creamy tzatziki, and salted mackerel. The food was simple, unpretentious, but absolutely delicious.

As we sat there, we realized that sometimes, what truly matters isn’t the food itself but the place and the company. Perhaps the meal was exceptional, or perhaps it was the warm glow of the sunset, the gentle rustling of leaves overhead, and the genuine kindness in people’s eyes that made it so special. We’re not entirely sure… but what we do know is that the taste of that moment still lingers, woven into the fabric of a perfect summer evening. ✨
